I attended the World Fantasy 2009 convention in San Jose, CA. It was my first World Fantasy convention, but I’m hoping it’s not my last. The focus was very much on reading and writing, while everyone seemed to be there to have a good time. I reconnected with a college friend and made many new ones as well, on top of discovering a handful of talented authors to add to my list. I did not end up meeting any agents, so had no need for my one sheet, but I know of others who did. I did speak with a Canadian publisher who is just starting out, and looking for an interesting aspect of speculative fiction.
