I originally selected this song to introduce you to the a cappella artist Peter Hollens, but the timing was better suited for a Christmas song. Well, it’s not the holidays anymore. Not only does he sing some of my favorite old Irish songs, but he also shares others doing the same sort of folk songs. Imagine yourself wandering through the heather and enjoy.
Note: Spelling corrected thanks to Linda and confirming that Peter Hollens does not adopt the spelling in common use in the US.
FYI-the correct spelling is “a capella”. I rarely get spelling wrong, but I always double check before correcting someone. 🙂
True, from Italian I believe. The “crushed” version has fallen into common use possibly to support the pronunciation, but usually I stick with the official version :).
Great singer. Loved his voice, his range, and his tone. I am curious, however, about the fact that that particular recording has background music and multiple voices ( maybe his own re-dubbed?)
Is that A Capella? Note:I always call it “Acapulco”- because I just dive right in whether I know the song or not
If you go to his channel on YouTube, he often has multiples of himself in the videos, so yes, he does redubbing. When he’s singing with someone else, he shows them and introduces them, so I’d guess they’re all him :).
