I have been invited to be part of the program for BayCon 2012, the science fiction convention held annually in Santa Clara, California, on May 25-28. I have been going, first as a member and then as a panelist, for more years than I can recall offhand. It’s a wonderful convention with something for everyone from panels for writers and readers to costume events, an anime room, a dealers room (what con would be complete without one), an art show, and more. I have made lifelong friends through BayCon, and seen friends made in other venues there. The critique sessions are also valuable, and I say this as a multi-time submitter and a pro critiquer.
You can learn more about the con, including a time travel visit to the highlights of previous years, at their website: http://baycon.org/
Hope to see you there. If you’re coming and want to cross paths, you can drop a note here if you’d like and we can figure something out. I will be updating my participation more as I get more information regarding panel assignments, etc.
Rick and I will be there, and I’m sure I’ll be in the audience for one of your panels. If we don’t get a chance to meet up, I’ll wave *hi!* now.
Wonderful :). We’ll have to touch base nearer to the con and figure something out. We have to eat after all.
Seeya! Anybody else from your family coming? A few minor points to discuss, but I’ll take that offline (staying before the con).
Colin might, Jacob won’t be out of school, and I don’t know about Sean and Mariah yet :).
