What My Readers Think

From Margaret McGaffey Fisk:

Not everyone wants to write book reviews online. Some of my readers send their thoughts directly to me (or send me copies of what they’ve shared with their friends) much to my delight. However, these very thoughts are the type of thing to help you decide which of my books you’d like to try. On this page, I share (with permission only) some of these wonderful notes, identified by their initial. If you’d like to add something to this page, or just want to tell me what you thought of my books without having it posted, use the website contact form to drop me a note. I love to hear from you.

I was truly engaged by Beneath the Mask, engaged viscerally – McGaffey Fisk’s young dancer spins out an exciting mystery. Charming, Regency, and modern at once, this story’s heroine mattered to me – tenterhooks, etc! As a bonus, Beneath the Mask contains sufficient paradox to trouble adult readers (eg, parents) AND spur on frustrated young dreamers; quite a feat. ~ P.

Shafter starts with a tough title and finishes in the money. After reading Beneath the Mask, Shafter dragged me into a surprising new literary climate. Welcome to Trina: however young, she is another in the long line of charming, good-hearted pirates. Her foil, unsubtly called a “Polit”, descends from the centuries-old tradition of cunning slave masters. Their convoluted sparring turns this science fiction into a page-turner. Trina’s next adventure hopefully awaits us all. ~ P.

I did enjoy reading Safe Haven. Not having read any Steampunk novels prior to this, I wasn’t sure what to expect. After getting my brain around the concept, I had to keep reading, and reading, and reading. Jolly Good! Thank you. ~ K. (A Regency Romance fan of Beneath the Mask)
