Book Review Delayed on Account of…Reading

A Glimpse of My BookshelfSorry, folks. I’m nose deep in a book and can’t find the will to find something else to review since I didn’t finish it in time. I’ll post once I’m done.

In the meantime, what books have been holding you hostage recently? I’m a book addict so despite an overwhelming TBR (to-be-read) pile, I’m always on the lookout for new tales to experience.

I read almost entirely in eBook at this point, but here’s a picture of one of my physical TBR piles for your amusement. Don’t ask me why the titles aren’t visible. Maybe I like to play random pull? Though I think most of that bookcase is the ones I’ve already read. I have four other bookcases with those waiting for a rare paper day, and I have run out of space on my eReaders (plural) before, so the electronic stack is even higher.

I’m reading a romance series – very rough world (drugs and shootings, though aimed against our heroes), very detailed sex, and poor editing (typos, not-quite-the-right-words, and homonym/spell checker errors). And it is fantastic and drawing me in hard – I finished the first one and immediately started the second. There’s only 4 (of at least 6) out so far, so I want to delay, but it’s hard. Amazing solid characters, deep motivations, sensitive alpha heroes, heroines with hangups based on their histories that actually affect their actions and thoughts…Love it. Men of Haven by Rhenna Morgan, I’ve read Rough & Tumble and Wild & Sweet so far.

Heh. I forgot you introduced me to the series, with your reviews… I have 3 and 4, now.

LOL! Yes, I did, and I’m right there with you. I don’t go for the mobster-like scene in my romances often, but she hits a bunch of my buttons. I’m about to try a different series/genre of hers…that’s more within my normal range…because I had to read something while I wait for the next book, right?

Eden? I don’t have the first one of that, yet – I have the second and third. I know she has at least one other series but I haven’t hunted for it yet. I finished 3 & 4, and am now reading a Seanan McGuire because I couldn’t stand any of the romances I’m in the middle of after those. Rihanna is rather amazing…
