Organics (Life)

A scary but not surprising article on how the organics label has been co-opted by big business. It’s not enough to buy organic. You have to buy organic from specific people if you want to get what you’re looking for. In our case, we became advocates of organic only after joining a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) plan and discovering how much better the food tastes. Yes, it’s a little more expensive, but it’s also better for you and better tasting, so it’s worth it. On the other hand, a lot of the local farmers are not certified organic because they cannot afford the process, or their farms are too close to others who do not do organic. It’s sad that the ones who make organic real are unable to get the label while the label is meaning less and less each year.
