The story centers on an acoustic guitar and a grieving pre-teen who work together to introduce Celia and Brian, allowing them to open their hearts to music and love.

I had a lot of fun with these characters between Celia’s dark past that she’s trying to let go and Brian’s determination to be the father his ex-wife (now deceased) never allowed him to be. It’s not an easy path they follow, and where Celia fights instincts born of a different world, Brian struggles to ignore the siren call of the country music scene.

Brian’s ex-wife thought music caused their marriage to fail, and he’ll give it up entirely before he’ll let music harm his reclaimed son Nick. Celia is a runaway who spent her adult years counseling other troubled kids. It’s hard for her to accept Nick’s anger and fear has nothing to do with abuse and everything to do with not wanting to lose his last remaining parent. They both have to overcome their pasts to lay claim to a new future.

Foster’s Way is an interesting little town, especially for outsiders who yearn for a place to belong. Celia’s a city girl, but not the bright lights version. She raised herself on the dark streets and knows more of shadows than cheerful breezes. Brian’s more at home in small towns, but something about the way people are curious and interested in each other draws him when he’s spent the past twelve years losing himself in the chaos of the music scene.

Both of them are seeking something they didn’t know they needed—a place to call home.

So, what are you waiting for? Pick up your copy of a heartwarming story that has made at least one reader cry happy tears so far.
